There are few places in the world where nature has favored a territory as much as in the Chilean Central Valley, where rich sun shines on the vineyards about 300 days a year. The soft ocean breezes, impressive Andes mountains, perfectly balanced soil components and clean mountain rivers create an ideal micro-climate for cultivating the noblest of French stock: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Carménère, and Sauvignon Blanc, among others.

These geographical barriers also act as a natural defense against the feared Phylloxera louse, from which Chile has been spared. Thus in the heart of the Maipo Valley, in the Maule and the Rapel Valleys, and recently in the Casablanca Valley, Concha y Toro has widely diversified its own plantings. Currently reaching 4,500 hectares (11,200 acres) divided into ten vineyards with unique micro-climates. In this way, control of the winemaking process can be guaranteed under any circumstances, from the harvest all the way to the presentation of the wine in world markets.
